The University of South Carolina encourages all students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Use the Vaccine Locator to find a vaccine clinic near you.
USCB's Campus Health Protocols
- Masks are optional in all campus buildings for students, employees, and visitors. Read the CDCs latest guidelines of the use and care of masks.
- All students, employees, and visitors are encouraged to maintain 3-foot physical distancing when indoors on all USCB campuses.
- As of May 16, 2022, the university is no longer conducting universal contact tracing and there is no longer a requirement to report COVID to the Public Health Response team.
Employees
- If you suspect you are positive, stay home and get tested as soon as possible. The Test to Treat Locator is a great resource to find testing and/or obtain anti-viral treatment.
- Notify your immediate supervisor if you are COVID suspect or COVID positive.
- Employees are expected to self-isolate for 5 days from the date symptoms began. Please use the CDC COVID Calculator as a resource to determine end dates.
- Employees may return to work after the 5 day self-isolation period provided symptoms have improved, and must wear a mask on campus for the next 5 days.
For faculty who may be teaching courses over the summer term, please use these guidelines for students.
Students

- Students enrolled in online courses are expected to keep up with coursework, unless otherwise negotiated with individual faculty.
- Students may return to in-person classes after the 5 day self-isolation period provided symptoms have improved, and must wear a mask on campus for the next 5 days.
Please note these protocols are in place for the present, and are subject to modification at any time, as new data emerges.
