UCSB Resident Assistant Job Description and Requirements
A Resident Assistant (RA) is a well-rounded student staff member responsible for building a positive community by organizing creative social and educational activities, fostering a safe environment and establishing 1-on-1 relationships with residents. RAs promote student development by serving as a resource for academic support, housing policies and procedures and by encouraging involvement in the diverse campus community at USCB.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must be a full-time USCB student for at least one semester and have lived in the residence halls for at least one semester or have comparable community experience. Candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.50. Approved employment in addition to the RA job will be limited to 15 hours of on-campus or 10 hours of off-campus work.
Terms of Employment
RAs are appointed for one full academic year. RAs are required to be full-time students, but they are not permitted to carry more than 18 credit hours per semester without permission from their supervisor. RAs must be in good academic and judicial standing in order to be appointed and remain in the RA position.

February 21st-25th, 2022:
Round 1 Interviews held virtually
February 25th, 2022:
Candidates will be contacted to schedule an in-person 2nd Round Interview
February 28th-March 4th, 2022:
Round 2 Interviews held in the Housing Office
March 11th, 2022:
Offer letters sent out to selected applicants
April 1st, 2022:
Deadline to accept or decline the RA position for selected applicants
