Grad Holding Diploma with Family

Senior Send-Off

You’ve worked hard. You’ve adapted—and thrived. And now is the time for celebrating all of your accomplishments with your classmates and families!  The USCB Class of 2022 and their families are invited to join the Chancellor, faculty, and staff as we celebrate your accomplishments at the Senior Send-Off, Thursday, April 28th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at  Hargray Plaza (by the fountain).

Graduating seniors and their families are welcomed to a festive evening of socializing with light appetizers, door prizes, free alumni t-shirt (while supplies last), a photo booth, and other gifts while celebrating with graduates and their families.

In addition, a graduation cap decorating station will be available.  Get crafty with your fellow graduating classmates to create a representation of your path, challenges, personality and community for all to see on commencement day. Bring your cap, and we’ll provide the decoration supplies.

Reservations are required for all graduating seniors and their families.  Please RSVP here.

Photography and Video

USCB's commencement exercises will be professionally photographed and videotaped for your convenience.

Graduate Photography

Photographs of each graduate as they cross the stage will be taken by Grad Images by Grad Trak. Click the banner below to pre-register so you will be able to receive proofs and order pictures easily online. There is no obligation to order photos if you pre-register online.

Proofs will be sent to your home and via email within three to five days after graduation. Pictures can be ordered online, by phone or by mail. Graduation Images can be contacted at (800)261-2576 or via the web at

Frequently Asked Questions about Commencement 2022

Following the original announcement of our Commencement plans, the CDC has updated their guidance regarding COVID-19. Following their announcement, USCB has also updated protocols around campus. With these updated protocols, we are able to provide a Commencement ceremony that mirrors our traditional event prior to the pandemic.

USCB continuously monitors the weather with the National Weather Service in Charleston, SC. They provide daily forecast updates for the region and USCB utilizes those forecasts to determine any potential weather/safety issues for Commencement. If it is determined that an outdoor event is not feasible, an announcement will be made to all graduates no later than Tuesday (April 26th) that the event will be moved to the Recreation Center.

  • For an outdoor ceremony, students will be seated near the stage and guests will be seated in a separate section behind the graduates. There will be enough chairs to accommodate 6 guests per graduate. Additional guests are permitted, but no additional seating will be provided. Guests may bring their own chair if desired.
  • For an indoor ceremony, students will be seated near the stage and guests will be seated in a separate section behind the graduates. Each graduate will be allowed to bring 6 guests to the ceremony. No additional guests will be allowed in the Recreation Center.

Tickets will not be required. More information regarding check-in procedures will be communicated closer to the event.

We anticipate each ceremony lasting approximately 1 hour. Graduates & guests should arrive no sooner than 1 hour prior to the start of your ceremony. We ask all graduates to be checked-in and guests to be seated no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of your ceremony. Graduates should arrive in their cap and gown. Parking instructions will be communicated closer to your ceremony.

Yes, the events will be live streamed, so friends and family can watch your ceremony live from wherever they are. Links and more information to follow.

Yes, there will be a professional photographer at each of the ceremonies to take photographs for purchase at a later date.

  • Current policy dictates if the event is held outdoors, masks/face coverings will not be required.

Yes! Both will be incorporated into the ceremony whether we are outside or inside.

Students may purchase regalia in-person at Shark’s Cove Bookstore (limited availability). Students may also place orders online until March 31st, 2022 here: Questions regarding regalia can be directed to the Shark’s Cove Bookstore at 843-208-8020.

Please email with the details of the special accommodations. Guests requiring Close Captioning accommodation must submit that request no later than April 1st, 2022.

USCB continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and follows directives from state and local health agencies. At this time we are highly optimistic that we will be able to hold these ceremonies in-person as planned, however, all plans are subject to change as guidelines evolve.
